From fried shrimp po’boys and cookie dough desserts, to pizza and New Orleans sno-balls, to a wellness tent with nutritionist-created culinary treats, enthusiastic crowds enjoyed Taste of DC at its new location in RFK Stadium. Despite the threat of rain, the weather held out, and guests enjoyed a lovely weekend.
How many of the different local flavors were YOU able to sample?
On October 7 – 8, more than 65 participating restaurants featured a wide variety of deliciousness. Food was paired with the perfect drink selections, and adults were treated to a “Taste After Dark” event on Saturday night.
All weekend long, the Beats n’ Eats stage mixed great live music with cooking demonstrations, providing fun for the whole family. And who can forget the amazing presentations at the DC Chili Cookoff? Talented regional chefs showed off their chili-making skills, but at the end of the day, Anna Maria Angelakis smoked the competition and took home the prize.
Taste of DC wasn’t just a fun time – it also supported a great cause. The event partnered with Water.org and Stella Artois to support their “Buy a Lady a Drink” campaign of bringing awareness and assistance to countries needing fresh water.
We look forward to hosting Taste of DC, again in the future!
